my christmas eve
Usually on christmas eve, we'll be at auntie Julie's, my mom's youngest sister's place. It's a family gathering we have every year. Not becuz of christmas eve. more becuz christmas will be a public holiday and we can all stay late. Those gathering usually consists of some wine from aunt julie's cupboard. She is a sophisticated woman of fine taste. my fave auntie. i tink. we'll have good food, and i will get to see my cousins. Cousin Vivien, my fave cousin. I tink she's in her last yr or already masters in NUS- Political Science. Cousin Lawrence, he looks more and more like jing1 cheng2 wu3 everyone keeps commenting. Cousin Joshua, he just got into medicine faculty in NUS, but he was more happy abt the fact that he can defer from NS till he completes his course. hah. strange how i miss them.
The same time this year, there is no gathering becuz it is shifted to christmas tomorrow. But we might not be going. My christmas eve this year is spent eating some left over chili crab granny made (yumz), some left over marcaroni and cheese which frankly speaking tastes quite bad... and some wine. I din drink much. don feel like it. i usually relate wine to auntie Julie. And this year, there's no aunt Julie, no Viv, no Lawrence, no Joshua. weird. Oh, let's have some christmas-sy talk. Christmas eve is when everyone is out with their girlfrenz and boyfrenz in orchard road. soooo romantic hor? counting down just becuz. i wonder if they all know that Christmas is actually a phrase insulting Jesus Christ? Or that Christmas is a festival for another religion, not christianity? Or even that nowhere in the bible was christmas mentioned? And that scientifically speaking, Jesus cannot possibly be born in December, but more like October? Nah. i tink Christmas nowadays is turned into a day of sinning. Let's just all get drunk, dance all night and spend spend spend all our hard earned money, to say the mildest mildest 'celebration'. who cares? What does it matter? YAY~ talk about the true meaning of christmas... ho ho ho... let's all sit here and senselessly count down to christmas, some festival we don even noe why we celebrate, but oh, we must. And add a christmas tree for some stupidity effect. For crying out loud, we don even noe who Jesus Christ is...! that's what many or rather, most are doing today. that's why my church never celebrates christmas. And the news anchor just wished all christians merry christmas. oh for goodness sake. P.S. i can really imagine jin feng's face. ho ho ho. Joyce at 10:16 PM
